The Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC are the two hot topics of debates these days. With protests turning violent, there is political unrest and chaos like situation prevailing in the country. For the same, a meeting cum debate was organised with Railways Minister Piyush Goyal for which a lot of Bollywood celebrities were invited. From Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal, Kabir Khan to Prasoon Joshi, Shaan and others a lot of people were on the invitee list. However, many gave it a skip.

Reportedly, Farhan Akhtar stated that he is out of the country and hence, can't be a part of it. The reason why Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal and others did not attend this meeting is yet unknown. Some of those from Bollywood who were spotted at the venue were Kunal Kohli, Prasoon Joshi, Anu Malik, Vipul Shah, Bhushan Kumar, Kailash Kher, Anil Sharma, Shailesh Lodha, Shashi Ranjan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Abhishek Kapoor, Suresh Wadhkar, Rahul Rawal, Ranvir Shorey, and Shaan, as reported by DNA.




Post the announcement of this meeting, Bollywood stars were highly trolled on social media. A lot of people slammed the stars and asked them to wake up. Trend #BollywoodWakeUp was trending and netizens asked the stars to refuse the invitation sent for the meeting and dinner with the ministers.  Earlier, Bollywood stars were slammed for observing silence on the violence that took place at Jamia Milia University. Only a handful of stars like Swara Bhasker, Anurag Kashyap, Farhan Akhtar, Vikrant Massey and others have raised their voice against CAA.
